NWA Goes California Dreaming!
by Press Release on 2002-04-05

The newest Affliliate member of the National Wrestling Alliance is none other than CPW. Dan Denton, a California promoter who has many years of experience in wrestling has become the latest promotion to join the NWA under the new Affiliate Program.

Mr. Denton has worked with Dave Republic's ECCW and was even one half of the Canadian Tag Team Champions. His partner was for the title reign was Spyder. While working for ECCW he even completed a documentary that was shot a couple of summers ago called B.C. Bodyslams. It is about life on the road in ECCW.

Behind the scenes, Mr. Denton lives in Los Angeles and has a film production company and a promotion company.

Said Mr. Denton, "I'm excited for a number of reasons. I'm probably one of the few promoters in the NWA who actually worked for the "old" company and I'm very thrilled and honored to be involved. I think more importantly, my many years of experience from booking to producing and directing TV to jobbing in front of 20 people or headlining in front of thousands, will bring the experience to produce solid and entertaining shows that will do justice to the NWA name and affiliates."

Mr. Denton's CPW has been running shows for the past few years and plans to be very busy this year and has begun pursuing a television deal.

"We've broken into the California market and made a lot of friends here," said Mr. Denton.

Mr. Denton's long career in wrestling spans many places and many names.

"My first three pro matches were against Big Scott Hall (pre NWO, lol). I then went on to work in Vancouver for Tomko where I would spend my winters. I worked the east coast for Emile Dupree in the summers and would spend the springs and falls with Tony Condello in Winnipeg and Eddie Sharky in Minnesota. I basically lived on the road for about 6 or 7 years until the territories died. I then went to Mexico in the early 90s and was part of a tag team called Los Animales. We worked on top down there for a couple of years. My old partner, Rick Patterson, currently works in Japan as Leatherface," continued Denton.

Mr. Denton brings quite a bit to the NWA as an affiliate member. We're proud to have him on board as the NWA train gets moving with a large head of steam! You can access the CPW website by going to www.carconsumer.com and clicking on the CPW link.
Welcome aboard Mr. Denton!

Quotes from the boys: Moondog Manson says "After a long hard thought about what I wanted to do, I realized retirement isn't what I wanted. Why would I give these knuckleheads the satisfaction of retirement when I can terrorize them ten fold in the ring.".
