Journal 7
by Tony Kozina on 1999-11-24

Ohhhh, it's been a hectic few weeks, and i've been running around crazier than a hound dog in a hub cap factory. My girlfriend, Chris recently bought me the Mick Foley book which is an absolute must read. I'm well over half way done with it. In fact on the long 6 hour drive to a recent ECCW/NWA-PNW show in Port Hardy, B.C. I began reading aloud to the others in the ECCW van. As the hours went by, we switched off reading and we all laughed, cringed, and enjoyed the drive while reading through the book. That was perhaps my favorite driving experience. The book inspired all of us. Especially Juggernaut, and Moondog Manson, who in the finals of the one-night Hardcore Hell Tournament ripped into each other like i've never seen. They went through barbed wire, and thumbtacks, and used ladders, and chairs. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was absolutely incredible, and the people went nuts for it.

Later in the evening, I was joking with TORCH, and said "just imagine what we'll try to do once we get our hands on that Dynamite Kid book."

The next few months looks to be slow, but I'm hoping to get out and wrestle in different places.

Again, a BIG thank you for all the support from those who have absolutely flooded the NWA forum on my behalf for a crack at the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Championship. Your support shows me I must be doing something right.

I did an interview for the Vancouver Sun newspaper recently, and was supposed to do one over the internet for the Victoria News, but my blasted keyboard broke on me so I missed the deadline. Oh well, what can you do.

I have been getting more into the business side of wrestling lately, doing some promotional work for ECCW/NWA-PNW on Vancouver Island. It's a chance for me to really dig in and learn about the business. What it takes to run a show and all the work that goes with it. I read somewhere that when ECW was first starting up some of the wrestlers did advertising work, postering, or other promotional work in an effort to help ECW grow and prosper. Well, it looks like whatever they did has paid off, so I have decided to try and do the same here in ECCW. Hopefully it will help ECCW to continue growing into the new millennium. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!!
